Allocating Funds
Unnoticed by much of the world, millions of orphans in Iraq face inconceivable hardships. The children we work with experience unimaginable tragedies and are often victims of violence, extreme poverty, physical and psychological trauma, malnutrition, and impaired development.
Since June 2014, Al-Ayn expanded the scope of its work to address the crisis of displaced families in Iraq. We utilize our long-term presence, relationships, knowledge of communities, local structures, and institutions to assist affected children and families throughout the phases of recovery. We work tirelessly to protect the rights of children before, during and after emergencies, ensuring their immediate and long-term needs are met. More than 33,000 families have benefited from our programs, including the families of registered orphans who were forced to flee their homes. Registrants receive critical aid in the form of financial aid, food, water, clothing and shelter. This includes families of orphans registered with Al-Ayn who were forced to flee their homes but continue to receive their allowance at other branches.
